Moirapedia (the "Service") handles user information as described below.

1. Information We Collect

The Service may collect the following information:

• Information provided via the contact form (name, email address, message body)
• Information automatically collected by analytics tools (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on site, etc.)
• Site behavior data via cookies

2. Purpose of Use

• Responding to user inquiries
• Improving the site and content quality
• Optimizing ad delivery
• Preventing fraud and spam

3. Divination Data

Inputs needed for a reading—date of birth, birth time, gender, and names in Kanji or Romaji—are sent over HTTPS to our server for calculation, depending on the feature used. Compatibility readings also send the other person’s date of birth; the question feature sends the question entered. Calculations do not take place solely in your browser.

Selecting “Remember in browser” when running a reading also saves your profile in this device’s LocalStorage (browser storage). Unchecking it prevents saving or updating the profile for that reading but does not remove previously saved information. To remove saved information, delete this site’s data in your browser settings. This also resets your cookie choice.

The current reading APIs include inputs in request URL parameters. These inputs may therefore be recorded in server or proxy access logs. Turning off browser profile storage does not stop transmission to the server or possible access-log recording.

4. Third-Party Services

This Service may use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (access analysis)
• Google AdSense (advertising)

Page views and form interactions may be sent to Google. Selecting “Decline” rejects consent for analytics and advertising storage; it does not mean that all connections to Google stop. Analytics requests may still be sent when consent is denied. See Google’s explanation of data use.

Connections to Google Fonts also occur to load fonts for display.

5. Cookies

This Service uses cookies to improve user experience and for analytics. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function correctly.

6. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated without prior notice. The latest version will always be posted on this page.

7. Embedded YouTube Videos

The Service may embed YouTube videos as learning resources about historical figures. These embeds use Privacy Enhanced Mode (youtube-nocookie.com). See YouTube’s official explanation for details.

Opening a figure page does not load its embedded video player. Clicking the button to load the YouTube player starts connections to Google/YouTube to display the player. Videos do not autoplay; playback starts when you press the play button.

Loading or using the player may send information to Google/YouTube, including your IP address, browser and device information, referring site information, and video interactions. Privacy Enhanced Mode does not guarantee that no external connections or data collection occur. Google handles this information under its Privacy Policy.

If you do not want to load a video, leave the player-loading button untouched and use the text and resource descriptions instead. This choice concerns the video player and is separate from the Service’s analytics and advertising settings. Following a link to YouTube subjects your visit to the destination’s policies and terms.
